Paso Robles is a beautiful and increasingly well regarding wine region in Central California. Halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Paso Robles is easily reachable by car.
Paso Robles is beautiful year round. The view is always beautiful with the hills and oak trees. The vineyards look most full from late Spring through Fall.
Summer time is warm (and can get hot) but the unique cooling effect of the breezes means large temperature swings and cooling trends in the late afternoon and evening. Summer is a wonderful time to spend grilling and entertaining outdoors, followed by incredible star gazing at night. Lake Nacimiento is a popular destination approximately 45 minutes west of the house. It’s a wonderful lake with boat rentals. There is also a water park off the 46 East as you approach downtown.
Fall brings harvest time and wonderful color changes throughout the area vineyards. The daytime temperatures begin to drop and the evenings and mornings are crisp. The time around the harvest festival is always special.
Winter brings cool weather but is still quite mild compared to most of the country. Winter is a great time for slow cooked comfort food and hearty wines. Mornings are quite brisk with lows approaching freezing.
Spring is a pleasant time to visit as well, still cool but beginning to warm up. Vines begin springing back to life and sprouting new leaves.
